Our Favorite Quotes from the Women in Sales Edition of Top Sales Magazine

Top Sales Magazine featured Women in Sales for their June Edition and I’m here for it. The fact is, women are still underrepresented at every level in sales. However, close rates, attainment and core sales skills improve when women are represented according to research produced by Gallup, Forrester and Gong.

We need organizations to recognize how important women are to their selling strategy and address workplace challenges that prohibit them from thriving. If we build cultures that support women, everyone benefits.

I collected my favorite quotes from the magazine and I’m sharing them below, but I highly encourage you to reach the entire thing.

"Company leaders, please review your parental leave plan for sales roles. If commission, spiffs, and bonuses are involved, make it a win for the person out temporarily – both ramp down and ramp up and it will be worth it to you in their appreciation and loyalty." - Lori Richardson, President, Women in Sales Pros

"I noticed that the strategies, tactics, and mindset that had been passed down through generations of salespeople were not necessarily aligned with my own strengths and values." - Cynthia Barnes, Founder & CEL NAWSP

"One of the most important lessons I've learned is the power of community. When we come together and support each other, we can achieve incredible things." - Chantel George, Founder & CEO, Sistas in Sales

"We have more data than ever before proving women are great sellers and moreover that diverse sales teams perform significantly better than their counterparts. Xactly reported “Women achieve 8% higher quota attainment than men” and “womenled teams have higher win and quota attainment rates, at 94%, compared to teams led by men, at 91%.” If the goal of organizations is to simply drive revenue, this data alone supports why we need more women on sales teams (both as individual contributors and as sales leaders)." - Alexine Mudawar, CEO Women in Sales

"Looking ahead, I envision a future where young women are recognized and celebrated for their achievements in B2B sales, and where companies actively seek out diverse sales talent. I believe that as more women enter the field, a shift in mindset will occur, paving the way for a new generation of sales professionals who prioritize collaboration, empathy, and inclusivity." - Heidi Solomon - Orlick, Founder & CEO GirlzWhoSell

"Women bring specific capabilities that differ from the traditional sales stereotypes. These capabilities are not exclusive to women, men can adopt them too, it’s just that women make the most of them, consciously or not, and this makes a huge difference to sales and business success. Capabilities such as collaboration, creating a shared vision for success, orchestrating internal resources, empathy, deep listening, and problem solving, openmindedness, stakeholder management, teamwork and understanding, and managing client emotions that facilitate relationshipbuilding and create a loyal customer base and therefore, better sales results. According to Forbes, 74% of clients are more likely to buy if they feel heard and understood." - Sue Barrett, Founder & CEO Barrette.com.au

"Usually, women sense that they feel disconnected and that their intuition is blocked. And they address it and get these energetic blockages cleared. Because they know about the importance of it for all areas of their lives, not only in sales." - Tamara Schenk

"Recognize that the more resistance you feel to taking on a tough task, the more likely it is that it’s something you must do. Have that difficult conversation about money. Tackle that unaddressed interpersonal difference. Deal with that chronically underperforming seller. Do it now." - Colleen Francis, Founder and President, Engage Selling Solutions
